TEDx

I didn't know that real people got to go to TED Talks conferences. I thought that you had to be doctors, or special in some particular way. But last week, I was one of those people. Yes, I went to a TED Talks conference.

If you have never been on the TED Talks website, I encourage you strongly to stop reading this and click on this link.

http://www.ted.com

TED Talks has a focus on educating ones self, about new and old ideas of the world. These talks concentrate on one particular idea, and they are truly amazing to listen to.

About my experience at the conference:

I walked into the building and was given a special laminated badge with my name printed on it to wear around my neck. Like wow already, right? We then sat down for several hours and listened to upwards of 10 people speak on something that they were truly passionate about. I felt special, enlightened, and inspired. The entire conference was about intersections and positive pathways and ideas in our lives. I absolutely loved everything about it. When I notice the talks come up on the website, I will be sure to link them in the future.

Now that you have explored TED, I am going to start posting an amazing talk every time that I see one, look out for them!

Nephi

I spent some time at my grandpas house today in Nephi with my mom. His house is so old it still relies on a wood burning stove. It is beautiful. I love it there. Plus, he has a cute cat. Also, a huge backyard with wood, wood, and more wood.
...for the wood burning stove. And tunnels.

(I only had my cell phone, so excuse the quality.)

Ragnar

I have a new project. It's called running. I have decided to run the Ragnar race in Utah with 11 of my friends... who will also be running. I am writing it down, so that this project doesn't die. Because this is a really exciting goal! I will be checking in with running updates, and Ragnar talk throughout the next several months. Wish me luck!

Juice: Beetnik

This is one of my favorite juicing recipes. I call it BEETNIK. One day I just threw in some random veggies and fruits, (as juicing always seems to go) and decided, this is the one. I love juicing beets. I think that they make some of the most amazing juice ever. On top of that beet juice is one of the most nutritional juices for you. Some of the health benefits and healing powers of beets are:

    anemia
    liver
    skin
    kidneys
    lymphatic circulation
    tiredness
    eye
    live
    skin problems
    detoxifications
    cancer
    anti-fungal
    anti-inflamatory properties

Enjoy my juice recipe. And heads up. Beet juice (especially if you juice 3 whole beets like I do) is going to do some serious cleaning out of your liver. If you see your stool and urine change to a dark red color, don't freak out. Just know that your beets are doing their job!

BEETNIK

2 Oranges
2-3 Carrots
3-4 Beets
1 Lemon
1 Thumb of Ginger

Directions: Juice Baby
